Fulafia VC Abdul Rahman visits education minister
He commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Tahir as the minister of education
The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has paid an official visit to the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, in Abuja.
During the visit, the vice-chancellor congratulated Tahir on his appointment, praying for him to succeed.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Tahir as the minister of education, saying that Tahir was the right person to lead the education sector at this time when the sector was bedeviled by many challenges.
Abdul Rahman said: “I see your appointment as putting a round peg in a round hole and, therefore, I am happy because I strongly believe that with you as the minister of education, many, if not all, of the problems affecting especially the universities in Nigeria will be addressed.”
Abdul Rahman expressed his hope that FULafia would, under the leadership of Tahir, witness development, saying: “Our University looks to having a very good relationship with your ministry.”
It would be recalled that Tahir was, until his recent appointment by Tinubu, the vice-chancellor of the Baze University in Abuja.
Tahir welcomed Abdul Rahman to his office warmly, saying that the FULafia vice-chancellor is an old time friend and brother.
He praised Abdul Rahman for his strong leadership in FULafia, promising to work with him for the development of the education sector in the country.
