In a significant development for Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, announced the appointment of three new Deputy Vice-Chancellors at the 129th Regular Meeting of the Senate.
The meeting was held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the university's Senate Chamber.
The newly appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellors, whose appointments are effective from July 7, 2025, are:
Professor Muhammad Maikano Ari as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic. Professor Ari is a Professor of Animal Nutrition in the Department of Animal Science at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
He has previously served as the Director of Quality Assurance and Servicom and as the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State on Multi-lateral Cooperation (2007-2011). He is the current Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies.
Dr. Halima Doma Kutigi as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration. Dr. Kutigi is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, with a specialization in Public and International Law.
She holds LLB, LLM, and PhD degrees in Law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and the University of Jos, respectively. She has served as the Director of the Bayo Ojo Centre for Arbitration and Mediation Studies, Head of the Islamic Law Department, and current Deputy Dean of the Faculty.
Dr. K'tso Ngharbu as Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovations. Dr. Ngharbu is an Associate Professor and a Nigerian Medical Geologist. He earned his PhD from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with a co-anchored doctoral program at the University of Silesia in Poland.
He is the current Director of Linkages and International Cooperation at NSUK and has held numerous leadership positions in international scientific bodies, including being the only African member on the Board of the International Environmental and Health Sciences Consortium (IEHSC).
He is also known for initiating the first Center for Medical Geology Research and the first Center for European Studies in Africa, both situated at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
