The Board assured that all necessary arrangements to ensure a seamless registration process and an excellent examination experience for candidates have been finalised.
JAMB stated that it has successfully developed a robust pool of examination items, completed the accreditation of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, and set January as the starting point for registration.
The Board expressed its commitment to delivering the most outstanding UTME in its history, having implemented comprehensive measures to provide candidates and stakeholders with an unmatched registration and examination experience.
Insights gained from the 2024 review have been incorporated into the meticulous planning for the 2025 UTME. Furthermore, JAMB has introduced stringent measures to prevent the recurrence of the minor challenges encountered in 2024.
To ensure an improved experience, JAMB encouraged candidates to begin their preparations early. This includes creating their profiles by sending a text message: NIN (space) followed by their eleven-digit NIN number to 55019. Early preparation will help candidates complete their registration without unnecessary delays.
“To facilitate a smooth registration process, it is vital to heed the strict warning regarding the use of henna, also known as ‘Laali’ or ‘Lale.’ The application of henna on the fingers can significantly impede biometric verification, as it has been found to obstruct the process.
“Moreover, candidates who attempt to remove henna designs with harsh chemicals may inadvertently damage the whorls on their fingers, making biometric verification and authentication exceedingly difficult, if not impossible.”
JAMB further advised candidates to protect their ten fingers throughout the registration and examination processes, emphasising that successful biometric verification is mandatory for entry into the examination hall. Without it, candidates will not be able to access the examination questions.
