JUST-IN:ASUU SET TO EMBARK ON STRIKE,TO HOLD NEC MEETING NEXT MONTH

Activities in the public and state universities is about to experience another strike action from ASUU.
ASUU had held a Resolution of the Emergency ASUU NEC Meeting at the University of Abuja on Saturday 8th June 2024.where critical issues where discussed.
NEC also observed that the Tinubu-led administration was unwilling to decisively address all outstanding issues with the Union.
Consequently, NEC resolved as follows:
i. To escalate the media and public engagements to sensitise the public on the failure of the government to address the outstanding issues including renegotiation of the FGN-ASUU 2009 Agreement.
ii.Within the next four (4) weeks, set machinery in motion to further mobilise members and at the end of mobilisation request for referendum from branches with options of possible action(s).
iii. A NEC-for-NEC will be convened after the conduct of the referendum to decide on the next line of action.
