JUST-IN:five persons arrested in Lafia,as they head towards State govt house in Lafia.
Protesters in Nasarawa state who are mostly youths have been dispersed by the security operetatives.
The protesters who were seen matching towards the government house in Lafia, Thursday, were blocked and dispersed by the security operatives.
Pqconnect reports that they were seen displaying placards carrying different inscriptions to convey their messages of displeasure against bad governance, such as “Remove fuel subsidy, “Say no to bad governance, ” We are hungry among others.
Pqconnect reports that none of the protesters were injured.However, five persons were arrested in Lafia, the state capital.
Meanwhile, National President of the National Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Aminu Mu”azu Maifata, has called on Nigerians particularly youths to be patient and support the economic policies and programmes of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lafia, Thursday, Maifata,said the economic policies are starting to yield positive results.
He urged Nigerians to contribute positively to the nation’s growth and development, cautioning that protests of any form could hinder development and progress in the country.
