JUST-IN:NSUK SUG 2024:NSUK VC Receives Committee Report, Vows To Deal With Perpetrators. 

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman FELLOW: UNESCO, ACLS, FIIFPN has vowed that those found culpable of disturbing the peace and destroying University property during the protest that followed the botched Students Union Government elections of Wednesday 4th September 2024 will be made to face the full wrath of the law. 

The Vice-Chancellor sounded the warning on Wednesday 24th October 2024 at the Council Chamber of the University when she received the report of the High Powered Committee To Investigate the Remote and Immediate Causes of Students Crisis After the SUG Elections. 

Professor Sa'adatu while thanking the committee for painstakingly executing its mandate with the highest sense of diligence and responsibility described the incident as unfortunate. She stated that those found culpable in the committee's report will be subjected to the University disciplinary establishments for proper action as the era of "not taking action on reports of committees is over". 

The Vice-Chancellor explained that the September 2024 Students Union Government elections which elicited so much interest within and outside of the University resulted in the aftermath that followed the failed elections. She stated necessary measures as outlined in the Committee's report will be put in place to forestall such occurrences in future. 

Earlier, the Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Professor Abdullahi Sallau Modibbo who on behalf of the Committee members thanked the University management for finding them worthy of serving on the Committee stated that they could not forward the report within the time frame allotted because they had to attend to over 40 memoranda received from students, staff, and concerned citizens and they also interacted with over 30 persons whose names were mentioned in the course of the investigation. He further stated that the recommendations of the Committee when implemented will sanitise the SUG electoral process and forestal such ugly incidences.
