Lagos Gov. Sanwo-Olu suspends media aide over #EndSARS arsonist comments
Mr. Ajetunmobi’s suspension comes on the heels of the misrepresentation of facts on his personal ‘X’ account on a past incident.
The executive governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has suspended his senior special assistant on print media, Wale Ajetunmobi, following controversial remarks made on social media.
In a post, now deleted, shared on X on November 23, Ajetunmobi claimed that several individuals who were involved in the b%%ning of Television Continental (TVC) in 2020 were “h%%ted down and exe**ted.”
A statement issued on Tuesday, November 26, by Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, confirmed Ajetunmobi’s suspension.
“Mr. Ajetunmobi’s suspension comes on the heels of the misrepresentation of facts on his personal ‘X’ account on a past incident.
The Governor wishes to state categorically that his administration frowns at any form of extra judicial punishment and will not be a part of any such action.
That is not who we are. That is not our way,” the statement reads.
