NASSA Lauds EFCC’s Anti-Internet Fraud Fight, Says ‘Yahoo Boys’ Making Life Unbearable For NSUK Students
The Nasarawa State Students Association, NASSA has commended the efforts of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC in combating internet fraud and other crimes.
Factional president of NASSA, Comrade Yunusa Yusuf Baduku, gave the commendation in a statement issued on Saturday following the recent arrest of suspected internet fraudsters by the country’s anti-graft agency in the off-campus residential areas of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi(NSUK).
Baduku lamented that the presence of suspected internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’ is responsible for the increasing cost of living and making life unbearable for students.
He also lamented that the presence of suspected fraudsters within students’ community not only poses a threat to the reputation of the university but also endangers the well-being of the students and residents alike.
He further called for synergy to rid the country of internet fraud and other financial related crimes.
The Nigeria Police had also raided a hideout of internet fraudsters recently where they arrested ten suspects.
