An official from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed the incident to The Punch News. According to the official, the grid suffered a partial collapse, but efforts to restore power are currently underway.
"We are gradually restoring power," the TCN official said, emphasizing the ongoing recovery efforts.
This latest collapse was particularly severe, with total power generation dropping to zero megawatts at 1:33 pm on Monday, as observed by our correspondent.
