Ven-Bawa Doles Out ₦6m To 461 Students In Akwanga North , Nasarawa state

A Member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly(NSHA), Larry Ven-Bawa has doled out ₦6 million to 461 students of tertiary institutions in his Constituency. 

Ven-Bawa who represents Akwanga North Constituency made the disbursement at the maiden edition of his “value addition scholarship empowerment programme” in Akwanga on Friday. 

The Lawmaker said the gesture was to improve the standard of education in his constituency and the State at large.

The beneficiaries were drawn across Ancho B, Ningha'ah, Agyaga, Nunku, Ningo/Bohar and Andaha electoral wards of the Constituency. 

According to Ven-Bawa who is also the Chief Whip of the 7th Assembly, ₦15,000 each were disbursed to 267 degree students while 194 non-degree students received ₦10,000 as education support. 

“This is also to reduce the burden of your school fees on your parents and guardians.

“Furthermore, it is part of my efforts in complementing Governor Abdullahi Sule's efforts in the education sector,” the Lawmaker, stressed. 

Ven-Bawa charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money to actualize their academic goals.

He assured the people of his Constituency of quality and sound representation at the state legislature.

“By God's grace, I will continue to put smiles in your faces through initiating good policies and programmes that will have direct bearing on your lives and the lives of others.

“I want to assure you of good and well representation at the state legislature at all times,” he said.

The Lawmaker urged the students to take their studies with seriousness in order to excel in their academic pursuit.

Ven-Bawa also urged the students to shun cultism, drug abuse and other negative acts in their interest and for the overall development of the state.

The Chief Whip appreciated Governor Sule for his good efforts in the education sectors among other sectors of the economy.

He called on the people of his constituency and the state at large to give their maximum support to the present administration to succeed.

Also speaking, Mr Randolph Para, Commissioner one, Nasarawa State Civil Service Commission; Mr Shuaibu Basau, Deputy Chairman, Akwanga LGA and Mr Misi Paul Daniel, President, National Association of Mada Students commended Ven-Bawa for the gesture. 

They urged the people of the constituency to support the Lawmaker and Governor Sule to succeed.

Responding, some of the beneficiaries Mr Amwe Abubakar and Suzana Suleiman appreciated the lawmaker for the gesture and promised to be hard working and take their studies serious to excel in life.
