Overhead Water Tank Collapses, Kills Woman In Nasarawa

A collapsed overhead water storage tank of a borehole has crushed a woman popularly known as Mama Ukwa to death in Nasarawa Eggon town, Nasarawa State on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident according to a resident simply identified as Abugu, occurred at the Angwan Moyi(behind Union Bank) area of Nasarawa Eggon town.
Abugu said the deceased came to fetch water for domestic use when the overhead tank fell and crushed her to death.
“The materials used in the construction was not of high quality(substandard). Also, the load (water tanks) were too much for the iron to hold,” Abugu, alleged.
The borehole he added belong to a private citizen and resident of the area.
The corpse of the deceased, a wife and mother has since been evacuated from the scene of the incident.
Efforts to reach the police for comment proved abortive at press time.
