Prospective corps members lament as portal for NYSC registration experiences glitches

Nigerian graduates preparing to go for the National Youth Service have gone on various social media platforms to lament after facing frustrations while trying to register on the NYSC portal.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13, the NYSC management announced it has initiated the Online Registration For 2024 Batch C Stream 1 effective from today the 14th of November 2024.
However, corps members who attempted to login to the NYSC portal when it opened today for registration have been unable to access the site.
Some claim they received "service unavailable" messages during their attempts. Others said the portal opened but they couldn't log in.
One graduate on X who managed to log in lamented that the site failed to recognise his NIN, thereby preventing him from completing registration.
Some corps members claimed on X that they missed out on going for service the last time due to issues with the portal and they are experiencing the same issues again. They lamented that the time given to register on the site is usually short and the portal gets closed early, even if many have not registered due to technical issues with the portal.
One prospective corps member wrote: "Its 2024 and nysc website is still crashing because of user load.
"Useless country dawg."
Another wrote: "This is @officialnyscng portal. The site is unavailable. But agencies like @FIRSNigeria has placed 27yrs age limit for it's recruitment. A lot of people will be denied this nysc reg. Today, so is their age will keep adding..."
Another said: "NYSC portal is a curse, fix it... @officialnyscng." One person suggested that the portal needs to be open for at least 2 weeks to allow proespective corps members to register.
He wrote: "The portal must not have short term validation like previous posts... Don't cause problems!!!
"2 weeks is a minimum duration for Registration @officialnyscng @NGRPresident."
So far, the NYSC management has not addressed the issues with the portal.
