They were meant for slaughter for the 9th adult harvest thanksgiving of the church coming up this Sunday
Two cows valued at ₦1.9 million have been stolen from the premises of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Testimony Parish in the Egbeda area of Oyo State.
The church revealed the incident in a Facebook post, stating that the stolen cows were meant for the annual adult harvest thanksgiving celebration scheduled for November 17, 2024. The theft reportedly occurred on November 11 as preparations for the event were underway.
Despite days of searching, the cows remain missing, prompting the church to seek financial contributions to replace them in time for the celebration.
In its Facebook post, the church appealed for prayers and support:
“Dear Celestians and the General Public, these two huge cows were stolen where they were tied in the church premises at CCC Testimony Parish, Elerumoke Area, Egbeda, Iyana Ajia.
They were meant for slaughter for the 9th adult harvest thanksgiving of the church coming up this Sunday, November 17, 2024.”
The church urged anyone with information about the stolen cows to come forward, adding, “We hereby solicit your prayer for quick recovery of this harvest thanksgiving sacrificial material. Anybody with useful information or assistance to make the thanksgiving celebration a success should contact the parish shepherd.”
